Mich has finally submitted her letter of resignation today.

I'm devastated. *sigh*

Although I knew it was going to happen sooner or later (since Jay-Ar is in Malaysia), I was hoping it was later rather than sooner... I don't want her to go, three weeks after Irene's last day at Sun Life.

Two of my closest friends at the office...leaving.

Anyway... Mich, Irene, SP and I went to Corregidor last Sunday-Monday. Louie and Apple were supposed to join us, but Louie was called to HK and Apple was, well, she was Apple so she flaked out at the last minute...again. But it's okay Apple, we forgive you.

Not much to do in Corregidor, or rather, we didn't do much. :P The heat was just unbearable! I wouldn't recommend going there in the summer, perhaps December-January is better. We did enjoy the tour though, and we took lots and lots of pictures. But by the end of the tour, we were just so fed up of the heat that when we got to the air-conditioned hotel room, we didn't want to come out.

We tried to go swimming but the pool was being cleaned and the beach just wasn't appealing to us... so we just wandered around, passing through the different buildings, and said a short prayer in the chapel we passed.

Afterwards, we headed out during the early evening on our own (we didn't join the tour anymore). We walked to the recreation area, it was already getting dark and the area was so quiet it was a bit creepy. But no one dared mention any ghosts or spirits...we still had an entire night to spend in the island. :)

We had a nice dinner of grilled chicken and pork, with Mich, Ayin and I taking turns at the videoke machine. We played billiards afterwards and headed back to the hotel.

Mich and I didn't get much sleep, just not used to the place I guess. My overactive imagination of ghosts and whatevers didn't help either. I was just glad I had my Ipod and my Heroes episodes to keep me company... or else I would have gone insane. I did manage to get some sleep in the early morning.

Our Monday activities consisted of a scheduled full-body massage. I love getting massages, and this was a good way to unwind after a tiring day. Since we couldn't take a bath after the massage, we couldn't go swimming, we couldn't go out (because it was hot!) so we just stayed in the room, talked about stuff and took more pictures. :)

When we got back to Harbor Square, Mich and I went up to the second floor to watch the sun set and then we all cooled down with a drink at Starbucks. My Corregidor trip was fun, and at least I got to spend time with my three friends who will all be leaving this April. I wish them all the best, and hopefully we'll see each other again soon. :)

I'm leaving for Bora again in a few hours...I just can't wait!

I owe myself this vacation... consider it my gift to myself for passing my Oracle certification. :)

Yes, I passed... as Mich would call it, 'miraculously' passed... hehe. I'm not sad or anything, I studied well for that exam, and even though I had difficulty with it, I know that it wasn't because of luck that I passed, I know and I understand the concepts I took. I might have been unfamiliar with some, but considering that I don't have that much exposure to it, I think I did pretty well.

So now, I have a right to sign my name with an OCA at the end, hehehe.

I definitely need a vacation, and a 6 days, 5 nights stint at Boracay with my relatives is just what I need. I brought a book, my Ipod (loaded with gigabytes of songs and videos), playing cards, and was even tempted to bring a Scrabble board. I plan to just lounge around, listen to my Ipod, and just bask in the glory of doing (and thinking) about nothing.

Then, when I get back to Manila on Monday, I have to prepare myself for Irene's turnover of the PAM-HK project. Hopefully, I'll be out of vacation mode by then. :p

Photobucket just released new slideshows! I've only started uploading pics (due to the fact that I only now have faster internet), so I don't have too many pics to post yet... But when I do, I'm sure to have fun customizing my slideshows.

I'm thinking of buying a digital camera... something really basic and small just so I can snap pics whenever I feel like them. But I don't think I'm in any financial position to do so. My Bora revisit will take up quite a lot out off my paycheck... and my midyear bonus is still about two months away...*sigh*.

Work has been really hectic the past few days... so many problems with the monthend batch...hopefully the workload will drop soon. I still really, really need to study for my OCA exam.

I feel like I'm heading for a breakdown... :(

It's not that I'm pushing myself too hard, it's just that I'm thinking of way too many things all at the same time, trying to get so many things accomplished. Maybe it's just coincidence that so many things are happening at work, and I still have other stuff that I need to focus on. But I think what's draining me is this sadness I feel that soon, very soon, I'm going to be alone in Sun Life... and I don't really know how to handle it yet.

I'm just really tired today so I can't help but think about these things...Misery loves company I guess.

I can't decide on a blogger template...

And since I still haven't found the time to learn CSS, and I'm too lazy to update my tagboard settings, I decided to stick with the Dots theme (as is with my friendster profile).

So Dots it is, until further notice. :-)
I'm going back to Bora!!!

I really was planning on going back with my aunts this May, but they moved it up to March, which is why I'm beside myself with excitement coz it's just a month away!

I plan to take up my 2nd OCA exam before that time... so right now, I'm busy reviewing for the test, which seems so much harder than the first one. Aside from that, I'm keeping myself busy with work, badminton and *ehem* developing my skillset/s.

That's all I have to say for now. :)

I've never been a doughnut person...which is why I was apathetic to the news that Krispy Kremes would be opening in Manila. I thought to myself, it would be like another GoNuts craze and sooner or later, the lines would thin out and the people would realize that it's just another sugar-loaded, empty carb fix.

I first had a taste of Krispy Kremes during our last US trip last 2004. We stayed with Tito Emmy and his family for a while, and they brought us 2 dozen assorted Krispy Kremes for breakfast. Granted, they were delicious, but like I said, I wasn't a doughnut person, so I didn't crave for it, not even once.

Then, two years later, Krispy Kremes opens at the Fort, and I bought a box of six Original glazed from my friend just so I can relate when people talk about it at work. They were yummier than I remembered, or maybe it's the Original flavor that I liked, I told myself I'd come back once the lines got shorter.

A couple of weeks later, (thanks to the SAS new hires), I had another Krispy Kreme, this time with a chocolate topping and custard filling. Sweet... maybe even a little too sweet, I told myself I can live without the empty calories.

Fast forward to the first week of January. Tere, mom and I were at the Fort and on a whim, we decided to drop by. Apparently, whenever you're in line, they would treat you to a free Original Glazed Krispy Kreme hot off the conveyor. And all I could say was... 'Mmmmmmm.....'

Diets be damned! This sugar-coated morsel of soft dough was delicious! So soft it almost melts in your mouth, with a slight crunch because of the glaze. I'm not sure how long my craving for this sweet, sweet treat will last, but until then...
